Greater Carrollwood, Florida is a community in northwest Hillsborough County, Florida. The population was just 33, 365 in the 2020 census. The community is designated as a census-designated area (CDA). The boundary of this area is the Lake Lanier reservoir. This community has been a very active one in supporting various civic groups, such as the VFMC Funeral Memorial Center. They have a director who is Mr. Richard Gerspach who is also the main fundraiser for their Greater Carrollwood Florida Funds. He is a former director of the Florida Department of Financial Services and served two terms in the state House of Representatives. In addition to supporting various civic groups and charities in this area, they also have their cemeteries within the Greater Carrollwood, Florida area. The community operates some cemeteries, but the Florida Department of Corrections manages some. Two of these cemeteries are listed below: The Rosehill Cemetery and The St. John’s Cemetery. Both of these cemeteries are accessible by the public, and the Florida Department of Corrections maintains them. One of the charitable groups that using this land for their campus is the Greater Carrollwood Foundation, which has been accepting donated bodies since 1976.
